SUMMARY

The ideal candidate will have varied experience meeting requirements in an ISO 9001 or TS/IATF 16949 Quality Management system. The Quality Tech receives general work assignments under limited direction and resolves most problems independently. The Quality Dept. and its team members serve to support the Quality Management System in general. More specifically: PPAP activity coordination, creation and submission, procedure creation, adherence to all requirements, and shop floor activities relating to part quality and part inspection.

Training will be conducted during 1st Shift 5am to 3PM.
2nd Shift is 1PM to 11PM, Monday-Thursday, 4×10

ESSENTIAL QUALITY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES For Quality Assurance

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

CMM Operation, Programming, and Interpretation of Results
Document creation, revision, data entry, etc. using basic Microsoft Office software.
Effective reading and interpretation of Part Prints, Shop Drawings, Material Specs., Weld Specs.
Effective and Accurate Product Inspections using Basic Inspection Tools.
Data entry into part nonconformance software program.
Troubleshooting alone, as a team member, or with team lead to resolve nonconformance issues.
PPAP Creation, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Cpk, etc.
Address Nonconformance(s) by working with fellow Associates to develop root cause and implement corrective action. Proficient in Ishikawa Dia., 5-Y, 8-D, etc.
Creation and Revision of Inspection Plans
Perform Internal Gage Calibrations / Facilitate Outside Service Calibrations
Capable to well represent the organization in communications with customer and suppliers via phone calls, site visits, and e-mails.
Responsible for end user and fallout customer’s quality requirements taking actions up to/and including pausing production while root cause analysis and corrective action is completed
Internal Auditing of our ISO 9001 Quality Management System

ESSENTIAL SHIPPING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for Shipping

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Pick orders from stock or from staging area.
Prepare product for shipping to customers or outside vendors.
Ensure customer order and product match; box, crate, and/or shrink-wrap as necessary.
Contact common carriers and schedule pick-ups, ensuring the meeting of customer delivery requirements.
Load trucks with outgoing products and unload trucks with incoming materials.
Inspect materials and ensure bills of lading are correct.
Verify the quantity and quality of material received.
Place incoming materials into inventory.
Operate a bander to band boxes to be shipped.
Affix completed address label and any other special labels required for the handling of material and specified by the carrier.
Complete and maintain all required paperwork, including pack lists, vendor pack lists, and bill of ladings.
Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS and/or SKILLS REQUIRED

Minimum 3 years of experience in fabrication or other manufacturing environment.
High School Diploma or Equivalent, Associate Degree preferred in manufacturing, related technical areas, or documented training in Quality topics.
Working knowledge of fabricated steel manufacturing regarding parts, materials, and methods.
CMM Programming, Operation, and Interpretation of results.
Accurate inspections with measurement tools that include, but not limited, Micrometer, Caliper, Height Gage, Indicators, Protractors, Vernier Scales.
Capable of creating and submitting comprehensive PPAP submissions independently

During the performance of his/her work duties, the incumbent will regularly lift up to 50 pounds and will frequently lift up to 25 pounds, such as removing materials from shipping containers.

The employee works in a manufacturing environment and is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and work in high places. He/she is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud.

Federal Tool & Engineering is an alcohol and drug free workplace. All temporary and permanent new hires are subject to both physical and drug testing. Typical work hours may vary and the potential for overtime is possible and may be mandatory. Due to production requirements, you may be required to work flexible hours or work on a different shift. Additionally, work requirements will vary, and you must be prepared to perform a variety of tasks as needed to service the needs of our customers.
