Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Manage the daily job performance of Quality department staff across both K&N manufacturing locations (Grand Prairie, TX and Corona, CA)
Partner with Operations to implement K&N’s Quality Management System
Responsible for maintaining the document control system and quality records, including final approval of new and revised procedures, specifications, manufacturing and packaging instructions
Support OEM R&D group in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process which will include:
Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation
Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (PFMEA) preparation and coordination
Development of process flow charts
Development of control plans
Support implementing & sustaining control plans
Develop inspection methods and oversee inspection of components utilizing the FARO PCCM (Portable Coordinate Measuring Machine) Inspection system
Maintain the K&N system for control of monitoring and measuring equipment, to include:
Overseeing performance of in-house calibration of applicable measuring devices
Ensuring outside calibration of devices as required
Assist with problem solving activities, including use of root cause analysis tools
Responsible for the corrective action (C/A) system, assigning C/A’s and accountable to verify completion of all C/A’s
Coordinate with Operations regarding requirements for control of nonconforming material
Serve as customer representative for the company’s Quality Management System
Serve as customer contact point for addressing customer claims or non-conformances related to the OEM and retail sections of business, including obtaining access to and follow up on reports or findings by the customer on their website(s)
Design – participate in design reviews, lead DFMEAs
Drawings – review and approve customer & vendor engineering drawings
Inspection – support check-fixture design, validation, and inspection instruction development

Desired Experience, Skills & Education:

Quality Control / Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment required
Minimum 4 years’ experience in quality control, leadership experience a plus
Previous experience with hand-held measurement devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.) required
Previous experience with calibration processes helpful
Familiar with ISO9001 standards and requirements helpful
Previous experience with product development processes and AIAG standards for OEM preferred
Previous experience with QIMS, SQAM, ILA required
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Windows software is required
Must be able to read/understand blueprints/drawings, experience in GD&T required

Must be well organized and demonstrate ability to simultaneously handle multiple duties, prioritize, follow through on all tasks and projects, and meet pre-determined deadlines with limited supervision

Work Requirements

This is an onsite position in Grand Prairie, TX
Occasional travel to Corona, CA may be required
Work schedule must align to support the needs of two-shift manufacturing team
