General Summary:
DECKED Ohio is looking for a Quality/Engineering Technician with a strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and attention to detail to join our Quality team. In this key role, you will primarily be responsible for programming and operating a CMM 3D Scanner and Probe to measure our products. Your work will be critical in ensuring that all components meet our precise engineering specifications, contributing to the exceptional quality our customers expect from DECKED.

Essential Job Functions:
This role involves the regular inspection of parts and tooling using a Keyence Wide Area CMM, as well as other measurement tools. Your responsibilities will include verifying that dimensions match CAD data and part prints, meticulously documenting your findings, and generating comprehensive reports.
This role includes training team members on the correct procedures for using the CMM. Additionally, it involves providing support to the Quality, Engineering, and Operation teams as required.
Analyze measurement data, generate reports, and assist with troubleshooting and process improvements.
You will be responsible for analyzing product performance data, including both warranty and plant defect information. Based on this analysis, you will develop production control plan strategies focused on key product characteristics.
Create incoming quality plans and drive process improvements with suppliers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Technical training or coursework in manufacturing, quality, or mechanical inspection is preferred.
You should have a strong understanding of GD&T and be experienced in interpreting complex blueprints.
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or production Quality role.
Hands on experience with precision inspection tools is essential, and familiarity with CMMs, 3D scanners, and probes would be a significant advantage.
Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach are important.
Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, IAFT 16949:2016 or similar Quality systems is beneficial.
Experience with PPAP and Dimensional Layout would be valuable.
