Quality Control Inspector – Assembly Section

Job Summary:

The Quality Control Inspector – Assembly Section is responsible for inspecting and verifying mechanical and electrical assembly processes to ensure completed products meet approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and functional requirements. The role performs in-process and final inspections, identifies defects and deviations, and ensures corrective actions are properly addressed before product release.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-process inspections of mechanical assemblies to verify proper fitment, alignment, dimensions, and component installation.
  • Inspect electrical assemblies and verify wiring, connections, continuity, and component integration according to approved specifications.
  • Perform final inspections of completed assemblies to ensure all components are correctly installed, secured, and functioning as required.
  • Verify assembly quality against engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, work instructions, and inspection criteria.
  • Perform functional testing and document test results for completed products.
  • Inspect hardware installation, including hinges, latches, fasteners, gaskets, and other mechanical components.
  • Identify, document, and report defects, non-conformances, and assembly deviations.
  • Use digital measuring instruments, gauges, and inspection tools to verify dimensional and assembly requirements.
  • Ensure inspection equipment and measuring tools are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform re-inspections following corrective actions or rework to confirm compliance with quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, checklists, test reports, and non-conformance documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce assembly defects, rework, and customer complaints.
  • Ensure all inspections are performed in accordance with company quality procedures and applicable standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 4 years of industrial assembly inspection experience, preferably within manufacturing, electrical enclosures, sheet metal, or industrial equipment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
  • Expert proficiency in using digital measuring tools, gauges, and inspection equipment.
  • Experience with mechanical fit-up, electrical continuity testing, and functional testing.
  • Strong knowledge of quality inspection procedures and non-conformance reporting.
  • Good understanding of dimensional tolerances and assembly quality requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
