Quality Control Inspector Jobs in Tulsa, OK at Stand-By Personnel

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Coordinates interface with suppliers, DMR/RTV function, corporate headquarters, and local contacts for all materials received by Quanta Nashville.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The main job functions are divided into four categories: Planning, Monitoring, Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement.

PLANNING

Serves as the Supplier Quality Assurance representative on New Product Introduction (NPI) team for all new product launches. Ensures that all new parts supplied to QMN have RTV (Return To Vendor) paths and instructions set up, and helps calculate possible replacement rates to ensure that an adequate set of replacement parts are in place prior to mass production, using data from previous projects and experience

Reviews Lessons Learned data from similar products and processes prior to launch to avoid repeat issues.

Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.

MONITORING

Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.

Provides direction for Quality Assurance Inspectors performing sample audits of incoming materials and stock. Provides leadership to Incoming Quality Control.

Provides assistance to the DMR/RTV (MRB) group in planning, executing and auditing inventory, control of MRB inventory, issuing replacement parts, etc.

Assists with disposition of materials which have failed test and are on hold in the MRB area. This includes working with vendor to get Failure Analysis results.

PROBLEM SOLVING

Leads cross-functional team for corrective action efforts including root cause and countermeasure actions using customer and Quanta required methodologies and formats (8D, 5-why, fishbone, etc.). Responds to customer within required timeframes with detailed explanations and visits customer facilities as required.

A special emphasis in this position will be working with various cross-functional groups to eliminate damaged due to handling and installation issues of supplied parts within the Quanta Nashville facilities.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Serves as continuous improvement leader for products and processes for which he/she is responsible for including kaizen events, six sigma projects and evaluation of employee suggestions.

Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of process capability.

OTHER

Assists with plant ISO 9001 activities including internal auditing, calibration and document control.

Drafts Process Flows, Procedures, Work Instructions and Forms as required.

Any other tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university (preferably in Engineering, Math or Science) and 3 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience with third party quality system certifications such as ISO 9001.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and suppliers.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Certified as ISO 9001 internal auditor.

Ability to read, write and speak fluent English.

Computer literate in a Windows Environment: Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio, Internet Explorer, etc.

Analytical and detail oriented with good organizational skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy.

Self-motivated with ability to use own initiative.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk and listen. The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
