Job Summary Statement:
The Supplier Quality Engineer will perform a variety of highly technical tasks and project management duties in coordination with our supply chain management team and suppliers. As a company, we not only rely on our suppliers and sub-suppliers to deliver quality products in a timely manner, but to do so without sacrificing our commitment to HSE. This role will help support and where necessary implement our Supplier Quality Program to help achieve our goals.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs comprehensive supplier audits which detail a wide range of a supplier’s ability to provide products or services to Waaree.
Works cross-functionally with the Supply Chain, Engineering, HSE, Project Management and other teams to evaluate supplier quality performance and implement supplier quality improvement initiatives.
Ensures that supplier products and materials meet specified quality standards and specifications.
Analyzes Quality trends and provide timely resolution to supplier issues by utilizing root cause analysis and corrective action investigations to identify the underlying causes of any issues, defects, or deviations in processes; implements corrective and preventive actions to address identified issues and prevent recurrence.
Leads process improvement team activities to resolve any supplier quality problems and improve yield for products.
Develops process improvements for incoming inspections, such as Dock to Stock implementation and supplier issues which ultimately lead to the reduction and elimination of inspection for “high yield” products.
Collaborates with all departments and drives LEAN Operating principles.
Works to enhance supplier processes, optimize supplier efficiency, and minimize waste while maintaining product quality and reliability. Utilizes Lean Six Sigma methodologies, statistical analysis, and process optimization techniques to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
Develops and maintains supplier quality documentation, including quality control plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality records. Generates quality reports and metrics to track key performance indicators (KPIs), monitor quality trends, and drive data-driven decision-making.
Ensures compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, UL, IEC standards) governing solar module manufacturing. Stays informed about changes in regulations and standards and updates to maintain compliance.
Provides training and guidance to personnel on supplier quality standards, procedures, and best practices. Fosters a culture of quality awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, Quality Management, or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g. Certified Quality Engineer) preferred.
Five (5) years of experience in quality engineering or quality assurance roles preferably within the Solar manufacturing industry.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications governing solar module manufacturing processes.
Solid proficiency in quality management systems (QMS), statistical process control (SPC), and quality assurance methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
Experience in supplier quality management, including supplier evaluation, audits, and improvement initiatives.
Experience with interpreting drawings, specifications, and standards.
Experience in LEAN manufacturing systems and connection to Quality
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner and work well under stress and time pressures.
Ability to travel to suppliers, domestic and global.

Working Conditions:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate i.e., manufacturing environment as well as a business office with computer workstations and computer printers, with light traffic.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
