QA/QC Technician/ Production helper
Hudson Valley Creamery is a manufacturer of Goat Cheese Products.
This is an early morning position starting at 5am or 6am for an 8 hour shift.
Common knowledge of QA operations, food safety, and the ability to interact with employees and upper management. English or bilingual necessary. Experience a plus, in order to perform this job successfully. The ideal candidate will possess the following skill and experience:
Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities (highlight):
implementing and maintaining food safety, while adhering to company and customer specifications. This includes
· Helping in production as needed to help with cross training of the team
· microbiological sampling of raw, finished products, primary material, water, air and other applicable per testing program.
· Perform a variety of laboratory procedures
· Perform daily work assignments accurately and in a timely and safe manner.
· enforcing GMP’s, food safety to both internal and contracted employees
· Reports all deficiencies in a timely manner to the management to assure corrective actions are taken.
· Perform inspections
· Document management: classification, editing and creation.
· Perform inventory of laboratory items
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
Manual dexterity
Ability to attend training and apply learning on routine operation, laboratory instrumentation, SOPs
Attention to detail and precision is a must
Ability to perform a variety of laboratory tasks
Ability to perform daily work assignments accurately, timely and in a safe manner with frequent supervision
Ability to communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instruction
Ability to cooperate with co-workers within an organized team environment or work alone with supervision
Ability to manage time effectively to complete assignments in expected time frame
Ability to maintain batch records and/or laboratory notebook and complete all laboratory documentation in clear and accurate language and according to SOP
Ability to communicate to other training received
Ability to count
Ability to use Excel, Word, and other office systems
Physical Requirements:
Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices.
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, reaching with hands and arms, talking, writing, listening
Occasional bending, grasping, carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching
Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
Working in a lab environment. Safety procedures will be followed to minimize exposure.
