YOUR DAY AS A QUALITY ASSURANCE SUPERVISOR
As a Full-Time Quality Assurance Supervisor at Lunds & Byerlys in Eden Prairie, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our commitment to food safety and quality. Your responsibilities will include daily quality control support, inspections of incoming raw materials, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You will help lead our quality assurance team, ensuring the execution of daily checks and facilitating audits to uphold the highest food safety practices.
Collaborating with various departments, you’ll assist in new product development and monitor supplier management to ensure ingredient excellence. Your role will include training and mentoring team members, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring all staff meet necessary food safety training requirements. REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS QUALITY ASSURANCE SUPERVISOR JOB
Strong analytical skills and knowledge of quality principles, along with proficiency in software tools like Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, are critical for success in this role. You should also possess effective communication, problem-solving, and project management skills to address changing priorities efficiently. Familiarity with USDA, FDA, and good manufacturing practices will ensure compliance, while a friendly demeanor and high energy will support a service-oriented approach. Your ability to lead a team while fostering a culture of integrity and trust will be instrumental in achieving quality objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in science, microbiology, food science, or equivalent experience
Certifications
Required: HACCP Certification or equivalent experience
Desired: REHS, SQF Practitioner, Seafood HACCP, PCQI Certification, CFPM, Sensory Training, Labeling Training, Food Defense/Food Fraud, Lean Six Sigma, and/or equivalent experience
Experience
Three or more years’ experience in food safety and quality
One or more years’ leadership experience in food safety and quality

Other required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Service-oriented with high energy and a friendly demeanor
Understanding of quality principles, research and development functions, analytical and bacterial principles, sampling concepts, and testing.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
Prior team leadership experience, project management and decision-making skills
Ability to respond to continually changing priorities and coordinate multiple projects
Strong math skills
Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Ability to maintain compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, OSHA and all other regulatory agencies while complying with good manufacturing practices
Ability to read and write English
