Quality Control Inspector Jobs in Michigan City, IN at Jet Fabricators
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting fabricated products, verifying compliance with specifications, and ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process. This position plays a critical role in delivering high-quality products to our customers while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and final inspections of fabricated components and assemblies.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges.
- Conduct visual inspections for weld quality, surface defects, and workmanship standards.
- Document inspection results and maintain quality records.
- Identify non-conforming materials or products and work with production teams to resolve issues.
- Assist with corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, customer requirements, and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical certification in Quality Control, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of quality inspection experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
- Strong knowledge of measurement tools and inspection techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality documentation practices.
- Experience with welding, machining, or metal fabrication processes is preferred.
Pay will be based off experience.
