Base pay range
$50.00/hr – $60.00/hr
Looking for (2) two mechanical inspectors and (2) two electrical inspectors to cover several vendors in the Greater Houston area.
Electrical SQ experience
A working knowledge of electrical installations and systems that comply with applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations, project specifications such as the National Electrical Code (NEC), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards, and local building codes.
Working knowledge of construction standards, codes of practice and regulations/legislation relating to electrical and instrumentation work.
Knowledge of switchboard, switchgears, lighting system, wiring, motors, and generating equipment and installation of electrical equipment.
Performs visual inspections, dimensional tests, checks rating, material for connection and performs closure of punch-listing operations.
Examination and inspection of wire harnesses, control panels, coaxial cables, and electrical boards, for completeness of assembly, quality, and conformance to blueprints.
Inspection of wiring of assemblies for accuracy of stripping, soldering, and crimping, and for defects.
Experience with functional testing, continuity, insulation resistance, megger testing and testing of functional instruments.
Mechanical SQ experience
Monitors supplier’s performance and manufacturing with industrial codes/standards; specified methods and procedures.
Ability to review and verify compliance documentation, including test reports, inspection records, material certifications, and as-built drawings, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements.
Prepare detailed reports covering assigned activities.
Reviews the procurement document requirements with supplier representatives to ensure they are known and understood.
Monitors inspection activities of supplier personnel including the witnessing of operations, inspections, examinations or tests to verify that procurement document requirements have been met.
Identify and document non-conformities, discrepancies, or deviations from project requirements during inspections and tests, and initiate corrective and preventive actions as necessary to address quality issues and ensure compliance.
Releases conforming material for shipment and notifies other client functional organizations to assist in coordination of their activities.
Experience with major commodities typically procured for global business unit projects recognized Codes and Standards, manufacturing methods, inspection/examination/testing techniques, and technical document review and implementation.
Experience or demonstrated proficiency in the concepts of administration of quality surveillance assignments, including capability surveys and compliance audits.
Experience with one or more Nondestructive Examination and Testing methods (RT, PT, UT, VT).
Current or previous Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
Responsible for adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
