General Description:
This position requires an individual with strong knowledge in the electronic/mechanical industries. They will also require an ability to interpret assembly and detail drawings, assisting Operations and Quality personnel which can include but not limited to assertive in inspection decisions, communicating with operations personnel, investigating failures and determining Root Cause and Corrective Actions, maintain multiple logs/matrix, update current procedures, etc. The incumbent is responsible to ensure all operations training will be conducted and maintained and along with all calibration tools. The Quality Manager, if needed may also assign other projects as necessary.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Maintain multiple logs or a training matrix.
· Ability to train individuals with guidance from instructions that include but are not limited to ESD, Calibration, etc.
· Able to test, evaluate, file multiple test records accordingly to organization system.
· Follow and enforce IEE procedures across the facility.
· Perform in-process Inspection of mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic subassemblies to drawings and/or specification as applicable.
· Perform Receiving inspection of consumable substances or materials with a shelf life expiration; document and identify such expiration periods as appropriate.
· Perform Final Inspection of assemblies prior to shipment and document finished goods
· Utilize mechanical dimensional equipment to perform mechanical measurements on fabricated and/or machined parts – Strong background a plus.
· Implement counterfeit part avoidance measures and report any suspect occurrences, as well as conduct training on counterfeit part avoidance
· Work with Operations, Engineering, Test department, and Manufacturing to investigate and resolve ongoing issues and process Corrective Actions.
· Segregate discrepant material for material review board evaluation, drive the MRB process and coordinate team meetings with needed personnel
· Entry of data using multiple software’s including but not limited to Excel and INFOR Syteline
· Record inspection and identification information on forms and acceptance/rejection labels.
· Stamp travelers for each specific inspection operation upon completion.
· Assist in Internal Audits and be a part of our annual AS9100 third party audit.
· Performs other duties as required and as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 6 yrs of related quality inspection experience and / or training in Quality Control or a degree in a relative field required
· Must be able to read, interpret, and execute information from part specifications, drawings, data sheets, and other component or part documentation
· Must be able to use analog or digital calipers, micrometers and depth micrometers
· Strong knowledge in ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards
· Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
· Must be able to understand, follow, and maintain established methods and procedures.
· Computer literacy required (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access)
· Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions as well as perform many tasks unsupervised.
· Be able to lift up to 25 lbs but observe IEE safety guidelines per the Employee Handbook (Sect. 5)
· Ability to demonstrate authorization to work in the United States.
· Light travel: may need to visit local suppliers to assess Quality issues or perform Source Inspections
Additional Skills:
· Familiarity with SAE, MIL-STD, NIST, and other Quality Industry standards is highly desirable
· Use or familiarity of AS9102 First Article Process
· Use or familiarity with INFOR Syteline or any other ERP system is helpful
· IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 CIS certification is desirable
· Bilingual, preferably Spanish, is a plus
