Quality Assurance Inspector I
The Quality Assurance Inspector will perform basic and routine inspection of products manufactured or processed by private companies to ensure compliance with engineering specifications. This position ensures that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently, and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures, and goals. In addition to product inspection, this role will assist and support the warehouse functions of the Santa Teresa, New Mexico, Legrand facility.
Main Job Duties:
Independently perform routine tasks to inspect product.
Independently perform PCA/part/subassembly/finished product build and quality validation sampling.
Perform quality inspection audits to IPC 610A standard for printed circuit boards, soldering criteria, leadfree connections, fillet criteria, cleanliness, and failure modes.
Perform tests on product to determine approval or rejecting and writes report of examinations.
Identify and disposition non-conforming parts, assemblies and finished good products.
Independently perform quality audits of various types.
Troubleshoot and isolate physical and functional product defects.
Perform work in a safe manner. Report repairs or safety concerns to management.
Maintain compliance with all ISO 9001 regulations and procedures.
Perform warehouse receiving, storage and shipping functions as needed
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret orthographic drawings.
Familiar with mechanical measurement equipment and tooling.
Ability to understand and apply the elements of corrective and preventive actions.
Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to resolve problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently.
Computer proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook).
Read and understand BOMS, Wiring and Layout diagrams for use in product build verification.
Familiarity of ISO 9000 standards and audit process preferred.
Familiarity with SAP software is preferred.
