We are a fast-paced precision machine shop in Auburn, CA who supports the aerospace, medical, laser, and robotic industries. We are seeking an experienced Zeiss Calypso CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector. This CMM professional will be responsible for programming and operating our Zeiss Contura CMM, performing dimensional inspections, supporting first article inspections, and ensuring complex machined components meet engineering and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precision manufacturing, hands-on CMM experience, and the ability to interpret complex drawings and GD&T requirements.

Compensation: Competitive, market-rate compensation based on experience and technical capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Program and operate our Zeiss Contura CMM using Calypso.
  • Develop inspection programs and measurement strategies from CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of complex precision-machined components using SMI.
  • Support AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience programming and operating a Zeiss CMM with Calypso software. GearPro experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, tolerances, and customer specifications.
  • Experience performing first article, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and help resolve dimensional issues.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal guidance. Strong time management, planning, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are required.
  • Must work effectively as part of a team with employees from diverse organizational functions and backgrounds, both as an individual contributor and when taking a leadership role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, along with the ability to interface professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with Mitutoyo MCOSMOS software is preferred.

Eligibility Requirement: This position requires access to ITAR or other CUI and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

  • General PC skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Accurate color vision and depth perception; Vision corrected to 20/20.
  • Competence in performing inspections using all standard measuring equipment.

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

This Quality Inspector will regularly be required to stand, walk, talk, sit, use hands to handle objects and feel controls; reach; climb stairs; stoop; crouch and have vision capabilities that enable reading and viewing measurement devices and computer screens.

Schedule:

  • M-F 6am to 2:30pm
