Position: Quality Control Inspector (Manufacturing Industry) in 77073
OVERVIEW:
Quality Inspector II plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with quality standards. This position performs detailed inspections, and ensures all parts conform to contract specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and hardness. Required skills and experience include strong attention to detail, proficiency using inspection tools, and the ability to adapt to diversequality inspection tasks as directed by the department Supervisor or Manager.
HOURLY RANGE DOE, must be open.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications, company’s quality control system for compliance with legal requirements, and shipping and packing facilities for conformity to specified standards.
Approves or rejects product and writes examination report including documentation of non-conformities.
Computes angles, radii, and other dimensions of work piece.
Measures angular dimensions, radii, contours, clearances, thread lead, and other specifications.
Tests parts for hardness.
Inspects and verifies accuracy of gauges and measuring instruments for conformance to specifications.
Measures surface finish of part.
Communicates with production and quality teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Works closely with the quality Supervisor or Manager to prioritize and complete inspection tasks according to production schedules.
Writes inspection reports or fills datasheets with testing results.
Prepares labor cards, job tickets, and other reports, forms, records, and related paperwork for assigned area.
Ensures established productivity standards are obtained.
Maintains a neat, clean, and orderly work area.
Observes all Good Manufacturing Practices and safety practices ensuring all machine guards, safety equipment, or other devices are in place and in good working order before and during operation.
Supports process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for quality enhancement and efficiency.
Uses all required personal protection equipment.
Performs any additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the quality Supervisor or Manager to support departmental goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School graduate or equivalent; and three to ten years extensive relative experience or a combination of experience and training.
Experience:
Reading and analyzing technical procedures and understanding required customer quality specifications.
Interpreting Engineering drawings.
Understanding Published Quality Standards (Ex: ISO 9001, ASTM material specifications and standard test methods) to determine compliance.
Quality Management Systems and Process audits.
Effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Word Processing software;
Design software;
Order processing systems;
Manufacturing software and Database software.

Organization.
Effective communication, both verbal and written.
