QUALITY LEAD
Custom Aluminum Products, a 66 year-old aluminum extrusion company in South Elgin and Genoa, IL is seeking an experienced Quality Lead for its Genoa, IL location.
Custom Aluminum Products has grown into a technically advanced aluminum extruder specializing in custom extrusions, engineering, fabrication, welding, bending, painting, anodizing, assembly, packing and inventory warehousing all done on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Assists the Quality Supervisor in developing and maintaining ISO-9001-2015 procedures and work instructions.
- Assist and implement methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material.
- Direct workers engaged in measuring and testing product
- Assist the Quality Supervisor in maintaining the gauge calibration database and the distribution of all measuring equipment as well as calibration requirements.
- Suggest and implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Work with other supervisors to coordinate quality activities of individual departments.
- Work with Quality Supervisor and other departments to assist in implement training programs as required.
- Apply knowledge of quality assurance standards and procedures
- Review quality assurance instructions, assembly specifications, and production schedules to determine method of conducting inspections and tests, sequence of operations, and work assignments.
- Assigns training of new workers to qualified workers
- Monitor receiving inspection and maintain receiving system
- Monitor all in-process quality procedures for all departments.
- Work with Quality Supervisor on internal ISO audits
- Review quality data with Quality Supervisor and suggest and implement ideas for improvement.
Skills
- Familiarity with ISO-9001-2015 processes and procedures in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding and application of company safety program
- Reading and application of prints and tolerances
- Use gauges such as calipers, pin gauges, tape measure and go/no-go gauges etc.
- Understanding and application of 5S principles
- Analytical problem solver and strong communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 – $26.00 per hour
