Overview
The QC Lead oversees daily Quality Control operations and leads strategic initiatives to ensure products meet company quality standards throughout their lifecycle. This role supervises inspections, manages quality escalations, supports supplier quality improvements, and partners with cross-functional teams to maintain product consistency, reduce defects, and improve the customer experience.
The position requires strong leadership, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring compliance with company and retailer quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily Quality Control operations and QC Inspectors, ensuring compliance with company quality standards, inspection procedures, and operational policies.
- Lead and execute key QC initiatives, including QC escalations, Amazon ANDON investigations, supplier migration (copy item) approvals, KD (assembly) quality improvement projects, new product inspections, Amazon/SIOC compliance, and ongoing inspections of seasonal and high-risk products.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce defects, returns, and customer complaints.
- Collaborate with Warehouse Operations, Design Room, Product Development, Marketing, Customer Service, Receiving, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Perform inspections of new products, supplier migration samples, golden samples, marketing/VIP orders, incoming purchase orders, damaged inventory, and in-house production.
- Maintain benchmark samples and inspection records, preparing detailed reports with photo documentation.
- Manage QC inventory, product holds, inventory adjustments, missing labels, relabeling activities, packaging compliance, and Bill of Materials (BOM) optimization using ERP and WMS systems.
- Support Customer Service escalations, replacement order inspections, warehouse startup activities, operational transitions, and other quality improvement projects.
- Recruit, train, coach, and mentor QC personnel while fostering accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience preferred.
- Preferred 2+ years of Quality Control experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience using ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, and quality control processes.
- Preferred experience with supplier quality management, product inspections, packaging compliance, AQL inspection methods, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and beginner to intermediate Excel.
