Overview
LEADING
- Lead by example by complying with all Saint-Gobain Principles of Conduct and Action and Safety Rules. Inform the QC Supervisor of any observed noncompliant behavior of co-workers, as well as any exemplary performance that should be recognized.
- The Lead will serve as an advisor to the Quality Supervisor and Quality Manager regarding resource needs, safety issues, quality issues, performance problems, and improvement opportunities in quality-related activities.
- Work closely with Shipping, Scheduling, Quality and Production Supervisors and Leads to communicate and carry out assigned daily priorities.
- Organize and assign Quality personnel as needed to meet customer requirements and delivery schedules and to support customer needs, QE requirements, and the production schedule. This position will have a dotted line reporting to Senior Quality Engineers.
- Participate fully and professionally in Production/Backlog review meetings, and any other assigned meetings. Proactively and professionally communicate with Supervisors, Leads, CSRs, and Shipping personnel to maintain adherence to the Shipping Plan and respond to urgent customer situations. Review Ship Plans, Routers and PO’s to anticipate potential problems and communicate any issues/opportunities to interested parties.
SUPPORTING
- Provide support to Production team by providing visual and dimensional inspection support and verification; conducting workorder audits.
- Coordinate with Shipping Team to understand and respond to priorities.
- Fill in as needed to cover absences for all quality inspection activities.
- Request/coordinate third party source inspection activities as needed.
- Ensure that quality-related supplies are maintained in sufficient quantities to prevent delays.
- Support the Quality Manager and Sr. Quality Engineers with assigned quality-related projects, investigations, audits, customer documentation issues, and continuous improvement activities within the scope of the Lead role.
- Provide support during customer audits; conduct internal audits of quality activities to ensure full compliance with customer requirements (e.g. self-release delegate requirements)
Monday-Friday 2:30pm – 11:00pm. $30.00-$40.00 PER HOUR, DOE plus $1.00 shift differential Plus Quarterly Bonus.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Required.
- Vocational School/Certification Quality related Field, Metrology; CQA, CQE, CQT or CQI is preferred
- A College degree is preferred
- 2-4 years Quality or Production Role that includes Inspection and use of gauges and blueprints is required.
- Experience supervising and /or providing direction to others is required.
- Customer Service/ Interaction with Customers, Quality Contract Review is Preferred.
- Aptitude and good eye-hand coordination
- Ability to use measuring equipment such as calipers, gauges, PI tapes is required.
- Good vision to read written materials and measuring instruments is required.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds is required.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the local pay range for this position, which is $30.00 to $40.00 per hour, plus a 2nd shift $1.00 differential ($62,400 to $83,200 per year), depending on experience. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/a quarterly bonus.
The targeted bonus amount can range from 7.5% to 10% of the hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs./week * 52wks) for this position is $67,080 to $90,480. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and, by nature, can vary based on company and individual performance and are not a guarantee.
