Summary:
The Quality Control Manager will oversee inspection, testing, corrective actions, internal audits, supplier quality, and customer quality activities within a manufacturing and foundry environment. This role requires a hands-on, data-driven quality leader with aerospace and/or automotive manufacturing experience who can lead teams, interact with customers and auditors, and drive measurable quality improvements.
As a Quality Control Manager, you will:
· Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
· Ensure proper use of inspection equipment including CMMs, gauges, hardness testers, and related measurement equipment.
· Monitor and improve SPC, process capability, and defect reduction.
· Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions utilizing 8D and 5-Why methodologies.
· Review and approve NCRs, MRB dispositions, and customer returns.
· Ensure timely and effective closure of corrective actions.
· Plan and conduct internal quality audits.
· Serve as the primary quality interface for customer audits, registrar audits, and Nadcap audits when applicable.
· Coordinate audit responses and follow-up actions.
· Oversee supplier quality requirements and performance.
· Review supplier corrective actions and conduct supplier audits as needed.
· Act as the primary quality contact for customers.
· Support contract reviews, PPAP/FAI submissions, and customer quality issues.
· Participate in customer meetings and technical reviews.
· Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and sales.
· Maintain a hands-on presence on the manufacturing floor.
Qualifications:
· 5+ years of quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Aerospace and/or automotive manufacturing experience.
· Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and/or IATF 16949.
· Experience with inspection methods and GD&T.
· Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action systems, including 8D and RCCA.
· Experience managing audits and interacting with customers and registrars.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
· Experience with aluminum casting, machining, or heat-treat operations.
· Experience with PPAP, FAI/AS9102, SPC, and MSA.
· Familiarity with ERP and quality data systems.
· Lean or Six Sigma experience.
· Strong leadership and team development skills.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and sales.
Education:
· Relevant education or technical training in quality, engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline preferred.
Salary: $50K-$75K
