Job Summary:

This is a hands-on position responsible for all aspects of Internal and External quality. The Quality Engineer will inspect parts using standard metrology tools (calipers, micrometer, pin gage, force gage, etc.). The Quality Engineer should be able to make product acceptance decisions, considering critical, major, and minor characteristics.

Principle Responsibilities:

Provide quality expertise to suppliers, designers, project managers, purchasing and manufacturing personnel
Execute Quality function deployment
Conduct design verification and validation through product testing
Develop inspection and test methods for various stages of production
Establish objective acceptance criteria for inspection
Ensure products meet customer expectations by conducting first article inspections and monitoring production runs of complex products
Occasional travel to domestic and international suppliers

Requirements:

A degree in science or engineering field
3-5 years of experience working in a corporate quality environment
Good written and verbal communication skills
Thorough understanding of engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerance, Process capability studies, Control plans, and statistical inspection plans
Experience in problem-solving and implementing corrective and preventive actions
Experience in Metal fabrication and injection molding is a definite plus
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer a definite plus

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is budgeted for $67,880-101,820, with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary depends on various factors and could be above or below the range depending on the applicant’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, business needs, and market demand. The full salary range for this role reflects this position’s competitive labor market value and provides an opportunity to progress as associates grow and develop within the role. Bonuses are paid based on RTC’s financial results. Any payouts awarded in the first year of employment are pro-rated based on the start date. Program rules are subject to change at management’s discretion.
