Quality Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and Smart Scopes, including the ability to program and optimize their use for quality inspections. This role is crucial in maintaining our high standards and ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Programming & Operation: Program and operate CMMs and Smart Scopes for precision measurement and inspection.
· Inspection & Quality Control: Conduct first-article, in-process, and final inspections using advanced metrology tools.
· Process Improvement: Analyze inspection data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions to improve product quality and reduce defects.
· Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain inspection plans, work instructions, and quality reports to ensure compliance with industry standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
· Root Cause Analysis: Investigate non-conformances, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and support continuous improvement initiatives.
· Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve production processes.
· Customer & Supplier Interaction: Support audits, prepare quality documentation (FAI, PPAP, etc.), and assist in resolving customer quality concerns.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within a precision manufacturing environment.
· Strong proficiency in CMM and Smart Scope programming (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar software).
· Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint interpretation.
· Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and aerospace/automotive quality standards is preferred.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Pay Range: $95,000 -$106,000 a year
Schedule: Monday – Friday (7:00am-3:30PM)
