Full Job Description
Murray’s CARSTAR, a leading collision repair facility, is seeking an experienced and driven Detail Lead/Quality Control Manager. You would be responsible for assisting the Production Manager in managing the workflow to complete vehicle repairs with expected target dates. You would encourage production employees and detail department to hit target dates for completion and quality repair while ensuring to meet CARSTARS standards.
What You’ll Do
Responsible for achieving production management goals alongside the production manager
Provide direction, organization, and leadership to staff
Responsible for assisting in check in process with CSR drop off lead
Good communication with CSR’s for drop offs and delivery process
Responsible for maintaining productivity levels to achieve a cycle time of 10-14 days
Train and verify all vehicles are checked in properly and to DFR area within 1.5 hours max
Assisting production manager with all hard stops in process via HARD stop QC form on vehicle
Responsible for reviewing final QC with CSR and any special promises made
Attend regular meetings with production employees and other staff to review daily repair order status during daily release meetings
Sign off on all jobs for final QC post final detail
Oversees detail bay to keep work area clean and orderly and all employees follow safety/OSHA/EPA guidelines
Assist in keeping all detail supplies stocked and up to date
Perform assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner that does not expose yourself or other employees to unnecessary risk of injury
The detail lead/Quality Control manager should strive to continuously improve efficiency in the facility and overall operation of quality control
The Detail Lead/Quality Control manager handles all customer comebacks with communication between customer, CSR team, and Production Manager
Detail Lead/Quality Control Manager is responsible to make sure all vehicles are inside at the end of the workday and secure the shop and lot
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
Previous quality control in the collision industry preferred
Advanced understanding and knowledge of operations and repair process/procedures
I-CAR certification, ASE training preferred
High school diploma/GED preferred
CCC experience preferred
Ability to be analytical, multi-task and problem solve
Highly organized, able to handle multiple concurrent assignments
Proficient computer skills
Prior estimating software experience preferred
Ability to receive direction and work well with others
Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record

Schedule
Full-time, Monday – Friday.
8- to 10-hour shifts with no weekend work.
Location
Des Moines, WA: Must relocate before starting work.
