Quality Assurance Engineer
Mizzeto is a healthcare IT company that focuses on automating and staffing payer operations. We have a fortune 25 client that is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer for a contract-to-hire role. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of the organization’s applications and systems. You will design and execute test cases, identify defects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality from the development phase through deployment. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality software. This is a contract-to-hire position, with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time role after 9-12 months. Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts to ensure software functionality meets the requirements and performs as expected.
Identify, document, and track software defects and work with development teams to resolve issues.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) on both new features and existing functionality.
Collaborate with product managers, developers, and business analysts to understand product requirements and provide feedback.
Create and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG).
Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve software quality and development processes.
Continuously improve the testing process by identifying areas for optimization and implementing best practices.
Ensure that applications are compliant with industry standards and best practices, particularly for healthcare-related systems.
Track and report on key quality metrics to stakeholders and management.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a QA Engineer or in a similar quality assurance role.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Experience with manual testing, as well as test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, JUnit).
Experience in writing clear and concise test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
Knowledge of API testing (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and escalate them appropriately.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
Experience within the healthcare industry, particularly with payer organizations.
Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Experience with performance testing (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards, such as HIPAA.
