Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Quality Control & Receiving Specialist to join our team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all incoming firearms, components, materials, and completed products are properly received, inspected, documented, tracked, and processed through the appropriate quality control procedures.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability, ensuring that each firearm or component is properly accounted for throughout every stage of the process—from inbound receiving and warehouse inventory to project-specific production, quality inspection, completion, and outbound shipment.
This role requires the ability to carefully inspect firearms and individual components, verify that all required manufacturing and quality-control steps have been completed, identify and document any discrepancies or non-conforming items, and maintain accurate records within internal inventory and data-entry systems.
Duties
- Receive and verify inbound shipments, ensuring all firearms, components, materials, quantities, serial numbers, and associated documentation are accurate and properly accounted for.
- Inspect firearms, firearm components, and finished products to verify workmanship, appearance, dimensional accuracy, functionality, and conformance with established quality standards and project specifications.
- Follow established quality-control procedures to ensure each firearm or component has successfully completed all required production, inspection, and approval steps before moving to the next stage.
- Identify, document, and properly route any non-conforming, incomplete, damaged, or questionable items for further review or corrective action.
- Maintain accurate tracking of firearms and components throughout the warehouse and production process, including items assigned to specific projects, series, work orders, or production stages.
- Verify that all items are fully accounted for during inbound receiving, internal transfers, production processing, inventory reconciliation, and outbound shipping.
- Perform accurate and timely data entry related to receiving, inventory, inspections, project status, quality-control results, serial-number tracking, and shipment documentation.
- Maintain organized and complete inspection records, receiving documentation, inventory records, non-conformance reports, and other required quality documentation.
- Conduct detailed quality audits throughout the production and fulfillment process to ensure internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable compliance standards are being followed.
- Collect and review quality-control and production data to identify discrepancies, recurring issues, or opportunities for process improvement.
- Work closely with production, warehouse, shipping, purchasing, and management teams to resolve inventory, receiving, documentation, or quality-related discrepancies.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation to ensure physical inventory matches internal records and project allocations.
- Confirm completed products are properly documented, approved, packaged, and accounted for prior to outbound shipment.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate records and providing requested receiving, inventory, production, and quality-control documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and controlled work area while following all company safety, security, and handling procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify small discrepancies in products, quantities, serial numbers, documentation, or inventory records.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to accurately track multiple firearms, components, projects, and production stages simultaneously.
- Strong data-entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
- Ability to analyze firearms and individual components to determine whether required production and quality-control steps have been properly completed.
- Ability to recognize and document cosmetic, dimensional, mechanical, or manufacturing inconsistencies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for reviewing inspection results, inventory discrepancies, non-conforming products, and production issues.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, quantity verification, inventory reconciliation, and quality-control calculations.
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records in inventory management, quality-control, or manufacturing software systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production, warehouse, shipping, receiving, and management teams.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and following established procedures.
- Dependable, organized, and able to take ownership of assigned products and tasks from receiving through final disposition.
