Overview
Quality Control & Shipping Specialist Jobs in Cheshire, CT at Escapology
Can you spot a real defect fast—and tell it apart from a cosmetic nitpick that doesn’t matter? Have you packed fragile, high-value pieces and built the crate that gets them there in one piece?
Escapology builds immersive escape rooms that thousands of players step into every week. Before our intricate props and puzzles can wow players, they have to pass your inspection. You’re the last checkpoint before an escape room leaves the building—catching what actually matters, then making sure it survives the journey to venues across the country.
This is a hands-on role for someone who has done real quality control and real packing—not just packed boxes. You inspect to a standard, not to an impossible ideal: you know which flaws fail a piece and which don’t, and you keep the line moving without rushing. If that’s how you work, read on.
Your Role on the Production Floor
- Inspect with Judgment: Inspect every prop against our standards for durability, function, and finish—then make a confident pass/fail call. You know which flaws actually matter and which are cosmetic details that don’t, so quality stays high and the line keeps moving. No rushing, no nitpicking.
- Pack to Survive the Journey: Wrap, cushion, and pack our creations—fragile, oddly shaped, and high-value—so every piece arrives intact. Smart, efficient packing is the heart of this job.
- Build the Crate: Construct custom shipping crates and internal packing solutions using power tools, engineered to protect intricate, high-value props through the bumps of cross-country transit.
- Ship It and Track It: Create accurate packing slips, coordinate with 3rd-party freight carriers, and keep orders and inventory current in our systems (Shopify, Airtable, and barcode tracking) so nothing slips through the cracks.
- Work With the Build Team: Collaborate with our builders and production teams, take clear direction, manage your time to meet deadlines, and help keep the workshop clean, safe, and organized.
- Grow With Production: As production needs shift, cross-train and step into broader workshop tasks—supporting projects, assisting across teams, and contributing wherever your skills add the most value.
- Sitewide Responsibilities: Take part in company-wide initiatives, projects, and operational duties that keep the facility running at its best, supporting other departments as the needs of the business dictate.

We’re looking for an organized, meticulous professional who has actually done this work—and thrives on process, accuracy, and getting it out the door right.
