POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of diagnostic test and imaging result workflows. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining quality assurance processes related to test tracking, imaging coordination, result communication, and follow-up care. The role supports clinical teams by minimizing diagnostic delays, reducing risk, promoting patient safety, and ensuring compliance with the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA), regulatory standards, and internal quality initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor and manage the tracking of all diagnostic tests, lab results, and imaging studies to ensure timely review, documentation, and communication.
Establish and maintain a standardized tracking system for pending, completed, and follow-up diagnostics.
Work with providers, radiology, laboratory, and nursing staff to identify and resolve delayed or missing test results.
Ensure all test results and related communications are accurately documented in the electronic health record (EHR).
Lead initiatives to improve quality standards and workflows related to diagnostic testing and imaging.
Ensure compliance with FTCA requirements, HIPAA, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
Participate in internal and external audits, conducting quality reviews to assess adherence to protocols and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with risk management and compliance teams to update test tracking policies and implement corrective action plans as needed.
Coordinate with clinical teams to ensure patients receive timely and accurate notification of test and imaging results.
Support proper clinical follow-up for abnormal or critical findings.
Contribute to patient education efforts by providing clear, accessible information regarding test outcomes and next steps.
Drive continuous improvement in diagnostic-related workflows by identifying gaps and recommending evidence-based practices.
Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration among healthcare providers, technicians, nurses, and administrative staff.
Assist with staff training related to quality assurance practices, documentation standards, and tracking systems.
Generate quality reports and dashboards to monitor compliance, track follow-up rates, and measure workflow efficiency.
Utilize data analysis tools to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for performance improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in healthcare administration, nursing, radiology, medical technology, or related field required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical, diagnostic, or healthcare quality role.
Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with diagnostic workflows. Working knowledge of EPIC preferred.
Strong understanding of diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, and clinical workflows.
Knowledge of FTCA guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and quality assurance best practices.
Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for working across multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in data reporting tools, tracking systems, and documentation standards.
