About the Role:

As a Quality Control Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of product integrity across our production processes. Reporting directly to the Head of Quality, your focus will be on ensuring rigorous testing, proactive site management, and continuous operational excellence. You will conduct thorough inspections, analyse processes at various stages, and guarantee compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Process Oversight: Conduct detailed testing of products to ensure they meet quality standards and legal requirements, maintaining accurate records of all procedures and results.

Quality Monitoring: Supervise product development and manufacturing to identify any deviations from established quality benchmarks. Recommend changes to improve product quality and production efficiency.

Material & Product Evaluation: Review incoming materials and production data for compliance, approving products that meet quality specifications and rejecting defective ones.

Risk Assessment & Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to assess material risks and enhance quality control measures. Conduct audits to ensure adherence to food safety regulations.

People Leadership: Develop and deliver training programs to ensure all team members are equipped with up-to-date knowledge on food safety standards and quality procedures. Foster a culture of quality and safety, supporting employees in continuous learning and growth.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Education & Experience: A bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Biotechnology). Minimum of 6 years in quality assurance/quality control, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Skills & Knowledge:

Expertise in ISO 9001, GFSI Quality Systems.

Familiarity with Business Process Re-engineering and Root Cause Analysis techniques (e.g., FMEA, SWOT, Ishikawa).

Experience with food processing automation, validation, and statistical data evaluation.

Knowledge of ERP systems and auditing practices (both internal and external).

Strong analytical skills with a focus on physical/chemical analysis and IPC control.
