JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Technician will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of quality within the organization. They will work with all levels of the organization to ensure ISO 9000 standards and procedures are exceeded as well as ensuring the quality systems are functioning effectively. They will work with supervisors and managers to find short term containment methods and long-term root cause solutions to quality issues discovered internally and externally, along with making sure all preventative measures are implemented.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and modify written work instructions and training materials using MS Word or other software.
Work with all departments on implementing actions to prevent quality notifications.
Maintain the quality alert program.
Manage the calibration of gages and torque equipment.
Inspect and disposition all nonconforming product.
Lead containment of all non-conforming product and work with domestic suppliers and other NORD subsidiaries to find permanent solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
In-process and final inspections.
Assist in facilitating external ISO Audits.
Serve as an Internal auditor and assist in maintaining in the internal auditing program.
Perform Corrective Action Request verifications.
Work with Quality Manager to maintain NORD’s Quality Management system.
Assist in other quality related activities as time permits.
Be an active participant in the company’s suggestion, quality, efficiency and cost-saving programs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma or relevant experience.
Internal auditing experience preferred.
Yellow or Green Belt preferred
Experience:
1-year experience working in a warehouse environment or equivalent.
Experience with ISO 9001
Skills and Key Attributes:
Forklift experience preferred.
Good organizational and math skills.
Familiarity using a computer.
SAP experience preferred.
Good Communication skills.
Self-Motivated.
Ability to work well within a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to life up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand on feet and move around for up to 8-10 hours per day.
