Role Overview:
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Quality Control Supervisor to oversee construction quality on an onshore oil and gas pipeline project based near Hamburg. The QC Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring all welding, coating, civil, and mechanical works meet the required standards, specifications, and codes. This is a critical role with a multi-disciplinary team delivering a high-profile energy infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform inspections and quality checks across pipeline construction activities including:
Welding and NDT processes
Pipe coating and wrapping
Trenching, laying, backfilling, and tie-ins
Valve stations and above-ground installations
Review and verify compliance with project specifications, ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), and relevant codes (e.g., EN, ISO, API, ASME).
Monitor contractor performance and provide immediate feedback on non-conformances or deviations.
Coordinate with construction supervisors, welding engineers, and subcontractors to ensure quality standards are met at every stage.
Ensure correct implementation of QMS procedures and participate in internal and external audits.
Witness and document pressure testing, flushing, and cleaning operations.
Maintain and update inspection records, daily reports, punch lists, and as-built documentation.
Support final quality dossier handover and ensure traceability of materials and welds.
Promote safety and environmental compliance in parallel with quality requirements.
Oversee a team of engineers and inspectors for this role.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 5–10 years’ experience as a QC Inspector on onshore pipeline or oil & gas infrastructure projects.
Experience as a QC lead.
Relevant technical qualification (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology).
Certified in NDT (at least Level II in VT, PT, MT; RT is a plus).
Familiarity with ISO 9001 and relevant pipeline codes (API 1104, ASME B31.4/B31.8, EN 1594).
Previous experience with German regulatory frameworks (e.g., DVGW, TÜV) highly desirable.
Fluent in English; German language skills are a strong advantage.
Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
Right to work in the EU/Germany.
