JOB PURPOSE

This position checks incoming and warehoused product for quality and/or defect.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Inspect, sort, weigh or measure material, parts, and products in order to detect defects and deviations from specifications.

  • Check customer part returns to determine if there is a defect or return to inventory.

  • Prepares defective parts assessment to determine if a defective part can be modified or returned to vendor. This assessment is prepared for Supervisor approval.

  • Use power and hand tools to repair or modify parts.

  • Use measuring instruments and test equipment to assure parts meet specifications

  • Create and store records of findings.

  • Label, segregate and reject items that don’t meet the specifications.

  • Examine detail drawings of agriculture parts showing technical details.

  • Follows all safety rules and regulations; keeps work environment clean and free of hazards.

  • Follows all departmental procedures and policies. Recommends changes to procedures for supervisor approval.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CAPABILITIES

Technical

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree or Vocational Degree/Certification.

  • 2-3 years’ experience in Quality Control.

  • Knowledge of arithmetic.

  • Knowledge of and ability to use measuring and testing devices including; micrometer, measuring tapes and calipers.

  • Ability to complete in house forklift training

Physical

  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, bend, and/or stoop. Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently (Level 3 Medium Work).

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend and stoop to inspect and access parts as needed in the warehouse and production areas.

  • Physical capability to use a personal fall arrest system (full body harness and self-retracting lifeline).

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

  • Physically capable of operating machinery and lift equipment.

Other

  • Willingness to work at heights up to 25 foot in the air while using a personal fall arrest system

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to work alone or with minimal supervision

  • Good work ethics and is “positive”

  • Ability to handle multiple activities or interruptions at once.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Must be 18 years of age
