We are growing rapidly and seeking a skilled Construction Inspector to join our dynamic team!
Position Overview:
We are seeking two experienced and detail-oriented Construction Inspectors to perform field inspections, materials testing, and quality control on active construction projects. The Construction Inspector will ensure that construction practices comply with project specifications, applicable building codes, safety standards, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily inspections on civil, roadway, building, and infrastructure projects.
Conduct materials testing including concrete sampling (ASTM C31), slump testing (ASTM C143), air content testing (ASTM C231), and compaction testing using nuclear gauges (ASTM D6938).
Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with project drawings, technical specifications, and engineering standards.
Complete detailed field reports documenting inspection findings, test results, deficiencies, and recommended corrective actions.
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, project managers, and municipal inspectors to address project concerns and resolve construction issues promptly.
Ensure compliance with AASHTO, ASTM, TxDOT, ICC, and local jurisdiction requirements.
Verify installation of structural steel, concrete, asphalt, utilities, drainage systems, and roadwork improvements.
Attend project meetings and provide input related to quality control and construction activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
2–5 years of experience in construction inspection, construction materials testing (CMT), or quality control inspection.
Certifications preferred: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I, Nuclear Gauge Safety Certification, TxDOT Certifications, NICET, ICC Certifications (Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Steel and Bolting).
Knowledge of construction methods, standards, and inspection techniques for civil infrastructure and building projects.
Strong understanding of ASTM, AASHTO, ICC, and TxDOT specifications and standards.
Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
Strong communication, organization, and report writing skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
