We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) that is responsible for ensuring that suppliers meet the quality standards and requirements of the organization and its customers. This role involves supplier evaluation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive supplier performance and align with the company’s objectives. The SQE serves as the primary liaison between the organization and its supply base for all quality-related matters.
Responsibilities:
Supplier Evaluation and Development:
Conduct initial supplier assessments and audits to qualify new suppliers.
Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain quality management systems that meet industry and customer standards.
Identify opportunities for supplier development and provide technical guidance for process improvements.
Quality Assurance:
Perform advanced quality planning (APQP) activities with suppliers, including participation in FMEA, control plans, and PPAP submissions.
Review and approve supplier PPAPs to ensure compliance with industry and company-specific requirements.
Monitor and enforce adherence to ISO/IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and other relevant standards.
Supplier Performance Management:
Track and report supplier quality performance metrics, including PPM, on-time delivery, and defect rates.
Investigate and resolve supplier-related non-conformances using root cause analysis tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone, or 8D.
Manage supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and ensure timely and effective implementation of corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply base to reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance processes.
Facilitate supplier workshops or training sessions on quality methodologies, tools, and expectations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with internal departments, including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing, to address supplier quality issues.
Support new product launches by ensuring supplier readiness and quality requirements are met.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in supplier quality management within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Certifications: Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and APQP processes.
Certifications (preferred):
CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), CQA (Certified Quality Auditor), or Six Sigma Green Belt.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in quality tools such as PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
Hands-on experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and automotive or industrial manufacturing processes.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work across departments.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Work Environment: This position operates in an office, plant and shop environment.
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit or stand for long periods and work in an office and/or manufacturing environment.
Occasionally required to visit the production floor or other departments as needed.
Expected Hours of Work: This position is planned as a normal 40-hour work week.
Travel: This position will require travel to local Paslin facilities and varying supplier locations.
