Production Support & Quality Documentation

  • Document test results and quality data accurately in Quadrel.
  • Review production scheduling (BCMI) and interpret SmartHatch data as applicable.
  • Recognize production non-conformities, follow escalation procedures, and support root cause investigations.

Field Sampling, Placement Support & Customer Interaction

  • Conduct field sampling and testing per ASTM standards, including alongside third-party inspectors when applicable.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, owners, and inspectors as a company representative.
  • Review project specifications, understand placement methods, and recognize environmental, water addition, and admixture impacts on concrete performance.
  • Fabricate, label, cure, and transport field strength specimens, documenting curing conditions (including photographs) as required.

Troubleshooting & Corrective Actions

  • Identify slump, air, and yield/unit weight non-conformities and validate corrective actions through follow-up testing.
  • Understand escalation procedures and document non-conformities thoroughly and objectively.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 certification, or NCDOT Field Technician certification, required (must be obtained within 90 days of hire if not already held).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the professionalism to represent the company at customer job sites.
  • Ability to work independently, follow documented procedures accurately, and recognize when to escalate abnormal conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in ready-mix concrete, construction materials testing, or a related quality control lab/field role.
  • Experience with lab or production systems.
