Position Summary:

Responsible for reviewing and auditing pre-fund loan files to ensure they comply with all applicable regulations, investor guidelines, and company policies. The PFQC Auditor will verify the accuracy of underwriting decisions made prior to closing, and identifying any potential issues or discrepancies that may require corrective action after a loan has been funded.

Responsibilities:
Performs in-depth audits daily on selected pre-fund loans to ensure accuracy, completeness and adherence to company policies, investor guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Complete a full credit re-underwrite to assess borrower credit worthiness, loan to value ratios, debt-to-income ratios and other key underwriting factors.
Obtain collateral including a review of appraisal reports, inspection reports, condo project eligibility documents, title policy, insurance documents and HOA documents. Ensures appraised value is supported and the property meets all eligibility requirements.
Identify discrepancies, potential red flags or inconsistencies that may indicate fraudulent activity within loan files and escalates to the proper internal team based on prescribed procedures.
Communicate with the appropriate business unit(s) for responses/resolutions; review and validate their responses and/or remediation documents to ensure relevance and ensure defects are closed timely.
Records audit defect details within the designated QC software system.
Participates in meetings and projects related to quality control and process improvement. Manages multiple assignments based on business needs to meet quality standards and deadlines.
Performs other duties and projects as assigned by QC Management.
Requirements:
Minimum of years 3 years underwriting, quality control auditing, and/or similar experience required.
Advanced knowledge of Agency/GSE guidelines, underwriting guidelines, products, and procedures related to FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA/HUD, HELOC/CES, AFH.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Exceptional attention to detail, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
High School Degree or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this role is between $36.00 and $42.00/hr. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including your job-related knowledge/skills, qualifications, experience, and market location.
