JOB SUMMARY
Join our team at Scientific Protein Laboratories (SPL), a world leader in biosourced pharmaceuticals, located just outside of Madison, Wisconsin in Waunakee! SPL is an innovative biopharmaceutical leader with unique products and services supporting the pharmaceutical industry globally. For over 40 years, SPL specializes in the development and cGMP compliant manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). SPL has an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Manufacturing Documentation and Compliance Specialist.
This position supports manufacturing operations by ensuring accurate documentation, data integrity, and coordination with Quality Assurance and Quality Control. This role is responsible for reviewing batch records and manufacturing instructions, entering and maintaining critical manufacturing data, and supporting compliance activities such as deviation investigations, change controls, and protocol execution.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as a liaison between Manufacturing and Quality for timely review and approval of documentation and investigations.
Assist in the drafting and closure of manufacturing deviations and associated CAPAs.
Aide in getting supporting documentation for investigation completion.
Support initiation, execution, and closure of manufacturing-related change controls.
Coordinate and ensure timely completion of training assignments and documentation for manufacturing personnel.
Assist in the execution and documentation of manufacturing protocols (e.g., qualification, validation, process studies).
Participate in internal audits and inspections as needed.
Review and verify accuracy and completeness of manufacturing instructions and batch records prior to and following production.
Identify and correct errors in manufacturing instructions, including coordinating with operators to make documented footnote corrections when required.
Accurately enter manufacturing process data into designated spreadsheets and systems for tracking, trending, and reporting.
Maintain compliance with cGMP standards and site procedures.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, technical, or related field preferred
Experience: 2+ years of experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing or documentation support role
