Essential Functions:

Oversee and streamline billing process for the organization
Plan and implement quality assurance for all billing processes
Perform strategic planning and priority assignment for the billing department
Develop and maintain a Credible Training
Ensures all billing is processed in a timely manner
Prepares monthly activity reports and monthly billing reports
Works with Microsoft Office software to produce statistical reports as needed for the Executive Leadership team.
Assists Corporate Compliance Officer as needed
Backup and supervise processes membership applications
Weekly Timelines and Status Reports
Process 835 Claims and evaluate denials
Prepare claims to be sent out to insurance company
Add and maintain staff in Credible
Coordinate with managers with escalated billing issues
Update and modify Credible as needed
Coordinate with Credible for large projects
Review and maintain billing matrix to stay in compliance with insurance requirements
Coordinate with Corporate Compliance Officer for audits
Basic IT back up and support
Resolve complex billing issues.
Initiate and implement innovative logistics in billing functions.
Verify and assess all bills before processing.
Detect errors in billing processes and make appropriate corrections.
Support other departments and personnel in billing processes.
Maintain registration, batching and coding for billings.
Assist and support audit teams in verifying bills and billing data.
Implement quality billing practices and procedures.

Requirements:

Education

GED or High School Diploma/Higher Education

Experience:

3+years of Medical Billing supervisory or above

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Good organization and communication skills
Computer literate
Friendly and outgoing and able to empathize with consumers
Must know Microsoft Office
Medical billing coding
Medical billing procedures
Different benefit plans
Medical collections procedures including coordination of benefits
General knowledge of Electronic data interchange (Edi) formats – 837p, 835, 277, 270

Other requirements:

Self-identify as a Peer by the International Association of Peer Supporters (I NAPS)

or Mental Health America definition and/or have (or have had a history) of a

Mental Health/Behavioral Health or Substance Use/Abuse Diagnosis

(Bona Fide Occupational Qualification)

Peer Certification Preferred

At least 21 years of age (Bona Fide Occupational Qualification)

Valid AZ Driver’s License Required

Criminal Background Verification Required

Pre-Hire and Random Drug/Alcohol Screening Required

Personal Vehicle Required
