Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Reports to: Quality Supervisor
Location: Reno, Nevada (Stead)
Pay Status: Hourly
Hours: Day shift

Position Summary

The Quality Technician supports food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance programs by conducting inspections, monitoring processes, reviewing records, and assisting with testing, investigations, and training to ensure products meet company standards and applicable regulatory requirements. This position reports directly to the Quality Supervisor. Candidates must have valid work authorization and pass a background check.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout the facility in accordance with company programs and applicable FDA, USDA Organic, and OSHA requirements

Perform ATP swabbing, sanitation verification, and routine pre-operational and in process inspections

Verify product identification, labeling accuracy, and required production and quality records, including magnet and related compliance logs

Assist the laboratory with testing activities as needed, including BI, sieve verification, and special testing

Conduct sensory evaluations and document product non-conformances

Support inbound and outbound product inspections as required

Assist with sanitation activities and cleaning verification when needed

Support investigations, corrective and preventive actions, and employee training related to food safety and quality

Maintain accurate documentation and prepare clear reports suitable for internal and regulatory review

Assist the Quality Supervisor and perform additional food safety and quality tasks as required to support compliance programs

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required, along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience in food manufacturing, laboratory work, or another science-based environment.

Associate’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or a related field is preferred.

Strong technical proficiency with computers, software systems, and electronic records

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional reports for regulatory review.

Spanish speaking ability preferred but not required

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
