The New York Micro Kitchen Food Safety & Quality Assurance Supervisor (FSQA Supervisor) reports to the FSQA Associate Team Leader (FSQA ATL), assists the FSQA ATL in overall supervision of FSQA Team Members, and is responsible for upholding all Whole Foods Market and industry standards and for ensuring overall quality and food safety controls at the facility. Areas of responsibility include supervision of Team Members and providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure all food safety and sanitation facility regulations are met.
Responsibilities:
Maintain Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) records.
Follow and enforce all HACCP guidelines and regulations and create corrective action reports according to HACCP requirements.
Monitor and oversee environmental monitoring program and other swabbing programs as required conform to HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) guidelines.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with relevant regularity rules and standards, including OSHA, HACCP, FSMA, Department of Labor, Health and Sanitation, FDA, USDA, Department of Agriculture, and Weights and Measures.
Examine incoming products for quality, freshness, and accuracy of weight.
Ensure proper lot control and rotation of all product in storage.
Inspect product on hand daily for quality and food safety.
Ensure all products are properly labeled and stored to prevent cross contamination.
Oversee the packaging of outgoing product to ensure quality and food safety.
Maintain accurate records and logs of all temperatures.
Verify and maintain an expected high level of quality in our products and processes with detailed assessments.
Produce accurate and detailed records and documentation and diplomatic resolutions and provide clear communication to all stakeholders.
Perform vendor weight tests and ensure facility scale accuracy.
Monitor and ensure proper facility and equipment sanitation.
Assist with conducting food safety training for all facility Team Members.
Represent the facility during internal, third party (3P), and regulatory audits.
Assist with monthly inventory duties.
Follow and comply with established procedures and maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with relevant regularity rules and standards, including New York Department of Health, USDA, FDA, New York Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures, and HACCP.
Supervise work activities of Team Members engaged in all aspects of sanitation.
Communicate team concerns to team and/or facility leadership.
Provide support to manage any applicable outside vendors.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma and 1+ years of experience.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a FSQA role within a production facility environment.
HACCP and PCQI certification preferred.
Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal food safety requirements.
Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain management, environmental health and safety, and OSHA.
Basic computer skills; proficiency in select Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); and ability to learn custom applications.
Ability to work well with others, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with little supervision.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the facility, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders including Team Members, customers suppliers, and regulators.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must adhere to company dress code and standards of production kitchen dress and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodation.
Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
May require use of ladders.
The wage range for this position is $21.00 – $28.50 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers “Whole Benefits”.
