Quality Control Technician, 2nd or 3rd shift Jobs in Alexander, AR at PPG US Industrial Facilities

Role Description:

Applies knowledge of the quality function to assure compliance to our Quality Policies and Procedures. Must perform work in accordance with all customer standards. This individual will be responsible for maintaining applicable quality systems as outlined below. Provides assistance to the senior quality staff as needed to fulfill internal & external customer needs.

Dimensional and Visual evaluation of production parts, first/last piece approvals, and floor audits as required by the quality system.
Work with production associates to assure the proper usage of measurement instruments on the production floor.
Work with production associates to assure the proper usage of inspection instructions on the production floor.
Perform special quality studies.
Provide feedback on dimensional concerns to toolroom, engineering, and manufacturing.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.
Ability to walk the production floor throughout the day inspecting metal stampings.

Noise Level

The noise level in the working environment is heavy to the sound of presses and machinery. Ear protection is required.

Education/Experience/Certifications:

To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following education, experience, or certifications are preferred:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

Minimum two years quality experience.
Minimum two years in metal stamping/operating CMM machine.

Certifications:

None

Additional Skills Required:

To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following skills are required:

Computer skills:

Experience with basic computer systems. (Plex)
Email
Microsoft Office Application

Communication skills:

Speak effectively with fellow employees or customers.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.
Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Mathematical skills:

Apply mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as basic algebra.
Must be proficient in basic shop math and geometry.

Other Skills:

Detail oriented.
Organized and able to meet deadlines while performing multiple duties.
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
