The Quality Assurance Technician at Jackson’s Food Company plays a vital role in ensuring daily adherence to quality standards and food safety protocols. Responsible for conducting rigorous quality testing, this role involves meticulous record-keeping, deviation identification, and immediate corrective action implementation to maintain product integrity and safety. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with the quality management team, managing raw materials/products disposition, conducting training sessions, developing SOPs, performing audits, and upholding Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). A key part of this position includes evaluating product characteristics, ensuring compliance with HACCP standards, and contributing to ongoing improvement initiatives. Adaptability to a fast-paced environment and effective communication across operational functions are essential attributes for success in this role. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the major functions of this position and are not intended to be a detailed description of all the work/functions that may be required. Perform daily quality testing and spearhead food safety initiatives to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
Review, approve, and meticulously maintain records to guarantee compliance with internal, external, and production certification requirements. Digitize and organize records systematically for easy retrieval.
Swiftly identify deviations in quality standards, taking immediate corrective actions in real-time to guarantee the delivery of safe and high-quality products to customers.
Escalate quality deviations that require in-depth resolution beyond daily corrections to the quality management team, initiating long-term corrective measures.
Manage the disposition of raw materials and finished products, categorizing them as Hold/Release/Quarantine in accordance with relevant standards and systematically recording the information in the electronic Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Conduct regular training sessions on basic food safety, cGMP, and quality compliance to support operational teams in maintaining HACCP-compliant practices.
Collaborate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to manufacturing processes and conduct training for production personnel, ensuring standardized practices across the facility.
Assess product sensory characteristics for approval and conduct shelf-life studies to maintain quality standards.
Perform audits aligned with production and sanitation schedules to ensure adherence to established protocols.
Champion and uphold Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) throughout the facility, promoting a culture of compliance and excellence.
Register service requests promptly to swiftly address any operational concerns or issues that may arise.
Understand the breadth of responsibilities within the job role and proactively communicate emerging issues across all operational functions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
One to three months experience and/or training in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within a food/beverage or dietary supplements and/or training
