Position Overview:
The Part-Time Tester will play a crucial role in validating the performance and reliability of both Level 2 (AC) and Level 3 (DC) chargers. Working closely with our engineering team, the tester will assess new devices and components for compliance, connectivity, and usability, ensuring they perform flawlessly across ICAPIA’s ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform manual and automated hardware tests on EV chargers (Level 2 and DC fast chargers)
Conduct UI, safety, environmental, thermal, and power delivery testing and compliance with the ICAPIA software
Report and document test results, issues, and anomalies
Assist the engineering team in debugging hardware, software and firmware issues
Verify compliance with UL, FCC, and other safety/regulatory standards
Maintain and calibrate testing tools and equipment
Provide feedback for design improvements and reliability
Requirements:
Technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field is an advantage
PC proficiency
Experience testing embedded hardware or power electronics (1+ year preferred)
Familiarity with multimeters, power analyzers, and similar tools
Understanding of electrical safety practices and test procedures
Strong problem-solving and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Qualifications:
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Strong understanding of electrical systems and US electrical standards.
Experience with hardware testing, QA, or engineering, preferably in the EV or energy sector.
Understanding of UL, ETL, FCC testing environments
Knowledge of OCPP and EVSE communication protocols is a plus
Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience using Google Workspace tools (e.g., Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs)
Valid Class C driver’s license, with reliable transportation to commute between office and warehouse locations.
Intermediate technical proficiency, including knowledge of wireless networking, computer hardware, and basic debugging skills.
Ability to document findings clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing tasks independently.
