Summary
The Sr Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for helping protect the integrity and sustainability of the Freeman Digital application environments by minimizing the adverse effects of change to the software products through the use of formal quality assurance and testing procedures. The Senior Quality Assurance (QA) engineer works with cross-functional teams and takes hands-on, accountability for the execution of the QA and testing process.
This position will support our IT team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be located in Dallas, TX.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead QA team resources by assigning and reviewing work performed along with mentoring QA resources.
Provide guidance to QA team for designing test automation using best practices and following established approaches.
Work with client managers and design team to review and elaborate project requirements, estimate QA effort and implement test procedures.
Work closely with development team to understand application, customer use cases, and functionality.
Review business and functional requirements, user interface specifications, and design documents and use them as a guide to perform manual and exploratory testing and ensure quality of software applications.
Create and maintain test cases/plans from requirements and exploratory testing for existing functionality.
Assist in implementing and managing automated tests for multiple systems.
Effectively communicate to project leads on any tasks that are at risk or where project plan adjustments need to be made.
Ensure all necessary documentation required for release management.
Utilize and apply standards and best practices guidelines.
Respond to QA requests by communicating necessary actions and best practices that affect a successful implementation.
Understand impact to entire application scope when introducing changes and raise awareness of impacts to ensure consistent standards and user experience.
Work with cross-functional teams to continually improve the QA process.
Perform functional, regression, security and performance tests and assist in maintaining bug tracking system.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required.
Minimum three (3) years or more experience in a quality assurance role and three (3) years test automation and/or software development.
Proven capability in successfully managing QA teams across both offshore and onshore locations.
Ability to work effectively with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high quality product.
Experience with building and maintaining both manual and automated tests.
Experience with Amazon Web Services or Azure Dev Ops.
Experience with build automation tools, such as Jenkins.
Strong skills with a coding language, such as javascript, C#, etc.
Experience with advanced IDE tools such as VSCode, Netbeans or Eclipse.
Shown ability to work independently and multi-task across multiple assignments.
Two (2) or more years of experience with agile software development methodologies.
Two (2) or more years of experience participating on cross-functional, major project initiatives.
Must have strong PC skills and working knowledge with Microsoft Office products, SharePoint and tracking software.
