Position Summary
The Quality Engineer establishes quality requirements to ensure that company products conform to customer requirements and industry standards by performing the following duties.
Supervisory Responsibility
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities of payrolled employees, but will oversee multiple agent partners in assigned territory.
Key responsibilities of this position include (other responsibilities may be assigned)
Review and interpret customer order and design specifications for quality requirements.
Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation to ensure contractual compliance.
Monitor quality performance of assigned products from engineering design through final shipment.
Advise engineering and manufacturing personnel on quality compliance.
Review supplier certifications and reports of non-compliance to identify product and material deficiencies.
Determine conformance to applicable standards and codes.
Compile quality assurance documentation for customer submittal.
Prepare Job Quality Requirement document to incorporate customer requirements into the company quality assurance system.
Review and approve supplier’s procedures and specifications.
Communicate and interact with Customers and Suppliers.
Coordinate customer and third-party source inspections with company manufacturing personnel.
Review and evaluate work repair instructions for quality requirements; determine the need for changes in instructions to meet requirements.
Analyze company quality assurance programs and suggest possible improvements.
Schedule Authorized Nuclear Inspector for witness of testing, document signature, etc.
Qualifications and Required Skills:

5+ years experience in a Nuclear Quality Assurance role under a ASME quality program preferred
Knowledge of Nuclear industry standards as they relate to valves:
ASME NQA-1
ASME Section III, IX
10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR Part 21
Others as needed
Experience with Commercial Grade Item dedication
Experience working in a “Nuclear Safety Culture” environment
Knowledge of quality standards (IS0 9001, ASME, NQA-1, ANSI, and ASTM)
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Metallurgical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (with a strong metallurgical background) from four-year college or university
Computer literate (Windows, MS Word, Excel
Great interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Excellent organizational and negotiation skills
Detail oriented
Must have creative thinking/problem solving skills
Adhere to international business protocol (etiquette, time differences, etc.).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining, welding, shop tools, equipment and health/safety requirements
Familiar with inspection tools and technique
Understand non-destructive testing, Inspection/Quality Control functions
Experience developing welder and welder qualifications strongly preferred
Experience in blueprint reading is preferred
ERP system knowledge preferred
Knowledge of government and industry standards as applied to quality assurance is preferred
Fluency in a foreign language is a bonus but not required
Travel domestically and internationally <10% of time

Pay range:
$90k-130k
Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
Bonus eligibility: This position is also eligible for a variable incentive pay component, separate from base salary.
