Job Summary: The TPI Inspector is responsible to audit and review specifications of finished trusses and wall panels and ensure compliance to regulate and customer standards. Report variances to relevant staff and prepare necessary documentation for compliance regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Check quality on roof and floor trusses and wall panels per Truss Plate Industry (TPI), organizational and customer quality control standards.
Report results of quality control checks to necessary management.
Assist in reading engineering layout and cut sheets to verify material, lengths, grade and size.
Report all maintenance problems to relevant leadership or staff.
Report any individual truss quality control issues to the lead man and Production Managers.
Other duties and assigned.
The TPI Inspector reports to the Production Manager. The TPI Inspector does not have any direct reports.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies including nail gun, hammer, forklift, press machine, saws.
Ability to read a tape measure to the 1/16 of an inch.
Lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs or more, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
A High School diploma or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
Accurately complete inspection reports and communicate non-conforming products appropriately.
Communicate with staff to determine the causes and communicate resolutions of non-conforming products.
Work independently with minimal Supervision and accomplish strict auditing objectives.
