3–4-month contract based out of Coquitlam, BC.
Our client is looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented Quality Control Technician to join their laboratory team. This entry‑level, hands‑on role is ideal for someone interested in learning laboratory testing and quality control within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
You will assist with collecting and testing production and customer product samples, maintaining the cleanliness of laboratory equipment, and accurately recording and reporting test results. Working alongside experienced team members and the Manager, you will help identify and resolve quality‑related issues while developing your technical and analytical skills.
The role includes a combination of indoor laboratory work and on‑site field activities, including driving (company vehicle access) and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Training is provided, and success in this position requires a willingness to learn, strong motivation and initiative, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a commitment to safety and teamwork. This role will be required to lift up to 20kg/50lbs on a 40-50% basis.
You will be required to travel to multiple plant and site locations including Coquitlam (home base and also where Lab is located) to Surrey, Delta, Vancouver and North Vancouver.
Responsibilities
- Collect samples of on-site production materials and outgoing customer products.
- Support laboratory testing and analysis alongside team members to meet deadlines.
- Clean laboratory, testing equipment, and truck.
- Record, interpret, and report test results to management.
- Partner with the Supervisor and team to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
- Balance indoor laboratory tasks with on‑site fieldwork, including driving and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience working in construction, and laboratory materials testing.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to learn and operate laboratory software and testing equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Confident and safe driving ability.
- Ability to lift up to 20 kg and work comfortably at heights and on stairs.
- Hands‑on role with regular interaction with production teams.
- Strong commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.
- Work may overlap with active mine areas and heavy mobile equipment (HME) operations.
