Quality Control Technician – Ready Mix Concrete Jobs in Williston, VT at SD Ireland Companies
SD Ireland Concrete Construction Corp. is seeking a dependable and motivated Ready Mix Quality Control Field Technician to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and performance of our ready-mix concrete products in both plant and field environments.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented and comfortable working outdoors in fast-paced construction settings throughout northern and central Vermont.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field testing of ready-mix concrete including: Slump, Air content, Temperature, Unit weight, Compression test cylinders
- Monitor concrete quality at jobsites and production facilities
- Ensure compliance with mix designs, ASTM standards and customer specifications
- Document and maintain accurate testing records and reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, drivers, contractors and plant personnel
- Assist with troubleshooting concrete performance and workability issues
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment
- Support plant quality control and aggregate testing procedures
- Follow and promote all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in ready mix concrete, construction materials testing, or construction preferred
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobsites
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Schedule
- Stable year-round position
- Early mornings, overtime, and occasional Saturdays required during construction season
