The Quality Controller ensures that all sofas produced meet the company’s quality standards and customer expectations. This role involves inspecting raw materials, monitoring production processes, checking finished products, and identifying defects or areas of improvement to maintain product consistency and reduce rework or waste.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect raw materials such as fabrics, leathers, wood frames, foam, and other components to ensure they meet quality specifications before use in production.
Monitor in-process production stages (frame assembly, upholstery, sewing, cushioning, finishing) to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Conduct final inspection of finished sofas before packaging and dispatch to ensure they are free of defects (e.g., incorrect stitching, uneven foam, fabric wrinkles, frame issues).
Record and report quality issues to relevant departments and recommend corrective actions.
Work closely with production teams to maintain quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Develop and implement quality control checklists and inspection criteria.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations within the quality inspection process.
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve efficiency.
Maintain accurate quality records, reports, and inspection documentation.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong attention to detail and precision.
Knowledge of sofa construction, upholstery techniques, and materials.
Familiarity with quality control tools and techniques.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to identify problems and propose practical solutions.
Basic computer skills (for reporting and record-keeping).
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in quality control, preferably in furniture or upholstery manufacturing.
A technical diploma or certificate in manufacturing, quality assurance, or a related field is an advantage.
Hands-on experience with sofas or upholstered furniture production will be a strong asset.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Capability to lift and move products during inspections.
Good vision (with or without corrective lenses) for detailed inspections.
