SUMMARY:
Company based in Vereeniging Gauteng is looking for a skilled Quality Controller to join their team. This position is a 3 Shift rotation:
(07:45 – 16:45 / 06:00 – 14:00 / 14:00 – 22:00)
POSITION INFO:
PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for ensuring that products, processes and services meet established quality standards and customer requirements. Duties include conducting inspections, monitoring production activities, identifying defects or non-conformances, maintaining quality records, investigating quality issues, implementing corrective actions, and supporting continual improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards and regulatory requirements. The following is a brief summary of the job, and is not limited to the following: Perform quality inspections of products and materials. Monitor production and operational processes to ensure adherence to quality standards. Identify, document, and report non-conformances and quality concerns. Problem solving, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive measure to prevent recurrence. Maintain accurate quality records, reports and documentation. Customer complaints, investigations to resolve and which could include visiting customers. Equipment calibration, manage calibration system to meet ISO 9001 & QMS standards. Completion of dimensional report on products. Support continual improvement initiatives to enhance quality and process efficiency. Able to work extra hours when required. Qualifications & Experience: Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate Tertiary Education in Quality Control or a related field Boilermaking skills & ability to read and understand engineering and technical drawings. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality control. Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and quality standards such as ISO 9001. Experience with inspection techniques, auditing processes and root cause analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. Ability to perform repetitive inspection tasks with a high degree of accuracy and concentration. Proficient in maintaining accurate records and reports. Knowledge in steel specifications and handling of customer complaints. Understanding of steel industry production processes and quality criteria. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to interpret technical specifications, procedures and quality documentation. Good visual acuity, including the ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and non-conformances. Energetic, self-motivated and independent person who can multitask and work effectively under pressure. Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift materials or products up to 15-20kg where required. Ability to work in operational environment that may involve exposure to noise, dust, varying temperatures, and moving machinery. Ability to work shift overtime, weekends, or public holidays when operational requirements necessitate.
