This is a full-time, on-site Quality Engineer role located in our Fremont location. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring quality systems to ensure product compliance with standards and customer specifications. Responsibilities include quality control assessments, quality assurance audits, and process improvements aimed at maintaining high-quality standards. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, conduct root cause analyses, and drive corrective and preventive actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary quality engineering liaison for Defense and Aerospace customers.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific quality requirements, government and military standards (AS9100)
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance documentation, including PPAPs, PQP and control plans when necessary.
  • Collaborate with customer engineering and supplier teams to resolve quality issues and ensure adherence to technical specifications.
  • Assist in conducting supplier audits, surveys, and performance reviews to ensure compliance with aerospace and defense standards.
  • Lead Corrective Action (SCAR) and RCCA/8D initiatives for critical suppliers; implement systemic corrective actions.
  • Analyze SPC data to identify trends and drive process improvements.
  • Partner with supply chain and procurement to qualify and develop suppliers capable of meeting defense-grade requirements.
  • Drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce defect rates.
  • Support and mentor Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and Technicians in advanced problem-solving and aerospace standards compliance.
  • Develop and implement process validation and inspection plans for complex machined components and assemblies.
  • Lead cross-functional teams on high-impact quality projects and improvement programs.
  • Guide the team in preparation for customer, internal, and regulatory audits, ensuring readiness and compliance.
  • Champion a proactive, data-driven quality culture across the organization.
  • And all other tasks the department needs support in.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Quality Engineering, Quality Control, and Product Quality
  • Experience with Quality Assurance, Quality Management, and compliance with industry standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analyses
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards is a plus
  • Experience in the manufacturing or electronic components industry is advantageous
