Flexco, a leading global manufacturer, is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer who has demonstrated success in quality inspections, developing quality standards and internal audits. This role will require a minimum of 3-5 years in a quality related role and a bachelors degree in a quality related field.
A quality engineer at Flexco can expect a starting compensation of between $70,000 and $87,000.00, or more, depending on skills, education and experience.
All internal Flexco employees must inform their manager before applying for a new role and must be in good standing with Flexco.
Purpose: Responsible for developing quality standards, conducting internal audits, inspections and testing, process monitoring and improvement, identifying and solving quality related issues, supporting external audits and documenting and reporting process performance status/results and improvement recommendations.
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree required in: Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
Possess or willing to obtain at least one quality-related certification (e.g., CQE, CQA, Green Belt) within the first year of employment.
Minimum 3 years in a quality assurance or quality control role including at least one year of performing quality inspection activities using inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
Basic knowledge of quality management systems, tools, and methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, ISO, Control Plans). Use of statistical process control (SPC) systems is a plus.
Exercise considerable judgment to conduct studies, implement programs and procedures and assist to resolve quality problems, guided by precedent and within the limits of established policies.
Primarily works in a manufacturing/production environment. Due to this, you will also need:
The ability to stand for extended periods and perform hands-on inspection work.
The ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs.
Comfort ravel up to 10% to suppliers, customers or other Flexco Sites may be required.
Ability to work safely and comply with internal safety protocols. Some work may involve handling heavy machinery or hazardous materials (proper safety gear provided).
What you will be doing:
Monitor and review monthly quality metrics and objectives related to quality issues.
Assist Working Quality Site Lead with collecting, documenting, reporting and improving quality metric and objective data.
Conduct weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings to review Customer Complaints and Internal/Supplier Nonconforming Reports (NCRs).
Prepare and report statistical analysis results with explanation and recommendations for improvement.
Learn and Maintain Statistical Process Control system, define SPC product inspection parameters and train employees to use SPC system and to analyze SPC data.
Investigate and resolve quality issues (internal, customer and supplier) through to closure, providing guidance and corrective action recommendations.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving activities to address quality concerns (internal, customer and supplier). Coordinate with
a. Materials to contact vendors to discuss and resolve quality issues through improved processes, drawing callouts or Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents.
b. Customer Service to follow up on quality related matters and Engineering to recommend solutions that achieve total customer satisfaction.
c. Engineering and Production to ensure dispositions and solutions are provided to operators regarding internal and supplier issues.
Participate in Internal Auditing and support External Audits (e.g. customer, ISO).
Participate on process improvement teams to improve product and service quality.
Participate in quality related associations to remain abreast of current technical developments in field.
Conduct and lead FMEAs as needed.
Able to participate in Lean Six Sigma process improvements
