Responsibilities:
- Review design plans, process procedures, test procedures, and quality manuals to understand the scope, requirements, and function of products.
- Ensure products meet the organization’s and customers’ quality and product integrity requirements.
- Plan activities to assure product conformance and act quickly and effectively when non-conformances are found to resolve issues.
- Supports product development or operations team by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process.
- Plan and direct activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for casting processes, materials, and products.
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Assist in maintaining quality system requirements and ensure that documented practices meet the quality management system standards.
- Identifies root causes of problems in the production process; recommends and/or implements corrective measures.
- Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
- Perform process analysis using statistical tools such as process capability studies, machine capability studies, gage repeatability and experimental design.
- Assist production and supports employees with quality issues when necessary.
- Work with Inspection and Quality Assurance to investigate scrapped components for process issues.
- Help ensure company's readiness for all internal and external quality audits.
- Capable of performing and leading on-site audits of potential and existing suppliers.
- Issue, resolve, and maintain corrective action documents with suppliers on a timely basis.
- Oversee the controlled document system, to include a final review of all changes to procedures, work instructions, forms, master lists and other associated documents to ensure quality certification requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in materials science engineering, mechanical engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
